LOUBOU LOAFERS ... CALL THEM MINE!

Happiness are shoes and a loving daddy! I couldn't believe my eyes when I read the sweetest approval I've ever received via mail a few days ago and so Louboutin was my first (and after this my last for a long time) shop-stop as I just got back in town on Sunday.
Although I'm supposed to study at the moment (and with this I mean really study - hard and intensive!), I just couldn't help to take a little break off the library and head to Louboutin's flagship store in Mount Street straight away on Monday to get the very last pair of black loafers (note that they just got in stores a few days before).
And what shall I say? I love them! I so deeply fell in love with them that I wish I just could walk in them forever on every day at every time. When I'm in love I could tell the whole world about it - and how I will!!! Actually I think this could be an everlasting love - not only a crush (you get them but realise that it's not true love after a while), a one night stand (you just have them one night and will never look at them again) or a heartbreaker (you get them but recognise their disability to satisfy you over a longer period in life, so you decide to say goodbye before further harm (in form of losing quality) is hitting you).
What do they say when they look at me? Something like: I'm the ultimate creation of a mixture of snobbism and classiness. Forget about my sisters and brothers in heel and sneaker format. I'm arrogant, sexy and I know it. Spikes, velvet and the royal emblem of my creator make me the most amazing shoe in the world. I will be looked on whenever I cross the streets just like the hottest bitch in town. And whoever's turning around will see the most recognisable character of myself: My red sole.

Moschino Cheap & Chic Pre-Fall 2012

picturecredit: style.com
It is said that you change your style over different times of your life. I truly believe in that. But there's always that so-called "core"style you keep, which always marks your outfits no matter at which age. Mine is definitely affected by that classiness I'm always attracted by. Not that my outfits are always classy. But I'd rather go in a Chanel jacket than in some destroyed jeans (both is hanging in my closet so that possibly explains my current styling stage).
One of the few (and here I underline few) labels that captured my heart for the past seasons is the younger line of Moschino.
Cheap and Chic seems to embody the young, classy girl with that sophisticated twist.
Therefore, next year's pre-fall is a perfect mixture of those characteristics. Checked jackets, trousers and dresses with black leather buckles and combined to casual shirts and smokey eyes build an amazing contrast. That's the cool thing with checks: Combine it to a Chanel-like jacket and you get a classy outfit. Combine it to a shirt and some cool winter-jacket, get your eyes smokey and pull some heels and you have the great play of rock-chic meets old England.  Or you just dip the classic red-black checked pattern into yellow and rose and you have the summer version of it. What I mostly like about this look is the fact that the girl doesn't look like her granny at all. Although that ensemble appears to have a rather old appearance, the shorts in combination to that flower printed blouse and leather gloves break it and let the model appear sweet yet sophisticated and cool.
Another detail that marks the collection are prints. Prints in every form. Whether as a printed bag on the simple rose-coloured dress (spicing it up with the colours of the printed bag) or with dresses telling "Fur for fun" while combining them to leo frocks - you gotta love it.
And above all the colour to mark in your head for this year's winter? Yellow. It seems as if it's all about it and although I find it hard to associate yellow with my favourite season of the year, I find it refreshing at the same time.
Overall a collection you just have to fall in love with. Cheap? No way. Chic? Definitely!

Post-Christmas Wish: Intern Crested Velvet Loafers!

In contrast to last year, I left out a wish list for this year's Christmas. Too bad. I wish I discovered those amazing killers by Christian Louboutin a bit earlier!
Maybe this just happened because I recently decided to avoid Louboutin shoes (okay, what I really mean are the heels). The fact that they're not comfortable at all is not a secret but the fact that every imaginable cheap looking girl appears to be in possession of the red soles at the moment is killing my mood to wear mine. It just destroys the whole image these shoes had in the past and quite honestly I think that most of Louboutin's recent heel-creations were not mind blowing. Just really cheap. Even glitter, spikes and fur don't convince in heel-format.
However, his flats are definitely my new target. Classic mixed with style breaking accents.
I like. I want. I get. Some day. In my dreams.

New Year's Outfit 2011

After a long time I can tell that this new year's was simply amazing.
I guess it's the same with every party night - if you expect less, then you will be more surprised. I absolutely love New Year's Eve, so I pulled that black dress bought at Topshop months ago (I honestly forgot the "brand" of the dress but I will add it as soon as that ashtray is washed). Together with my skull earrings and the spike heels I built a little contrast. I wanted my nails to match the whole outfit, so I used one of OPI's sparkling silver polishes.
I hope everyone had a nice night and that you all don't suffer from a massive hangover as much as I still do.

Goodbye 2011!

Life has taught me a lot this year. Just like last year. And the year before. And all the years before that year.
Moving from Maastricht to Cologne to London was one of the most exciting things I was able to experience in 2011. Especially the last move was the best one I could have done to myself. Although it felt a little bit like homecoming to this impulsive city, it was also the chance to start from another beginning. Without my parents, without any assurance that things will turn out to be good. But how they did: This time, everything seems to be good just the way it is. It just fits in every sense. I think this is something that just rarely happens, so I better appreciate it rather than complain about all the little things in between, that made me upset from time to time.
I'm blessed with the best parents, true friends and I got the chance to gain some new ones who enrich my life. While some times turned out to be harder than others, the most important thing should be to appreciate them. Easier said than done, I know.
If there was an award to dedicate to one person year after year, I knew to whom I would dedicate mine. Larissa is definitely my person of this year and one of the most amazing people I came across in my life so far.  I don't want to miss any conversation with her. This was the first time after 8 years that I didn't spend Christmas together with her and I just terribly missed it. She's one of those kind of people you rarely get to know - self-confident, direct, honest, full of humour and above all: loyal. I love and miss you!
I hope everyone had a good year and will even have a better 2012!

Blue Velvet

On the 26th of December, I decided to go for another absolute lovely material. Velvet. I always associate it with another festive moment and since the second Chrimstas day still counts as such an occasion, I thought of this jacket bought at Reiss years ago. Sadly, the pictures couldn't really capture it perfectly.
As a contrast, I mixed it up with my half-leather trousers.

Jacket: Reiss
Trousers: Ted Baker (once again)
Top: H&M
Bracelet 1: Hermès
Bracelet 2: Fendi
Necklace: Bulgari
 Heels: Zara
