Plum Valley

Again, I'm publishing pictures of a lost and found experience I had yesterday. I just reviewed everything from last month and what did I come across? These shots from Chinatown I've been carrying around for a while and never got to upload them.
Being back in London feels like returning to the north pole - at least it felt like this yesterday. I guess that's what you call Karma. I've been just writing about how lovely and sweet London can be when the sun comes out (have a look at this post and this one "while the rest of Europe is freezing" #nicetry) and here we go with the bad side of it. The moment I get the chance to publish two posts with some more spring-summerish clothes, the moment I find myself in my parka and its fury details again.
Can't change much about it I guess. Coming back to this post's topic, there's not much left to say than telling that I finally got to eat my crispy duck again. Plum Valley is a wonderful restaurant located quite at the end of Gerrard Street (which is the trail of Chinatown). With a wonderful interior design (I'm simply in love with dark shades, dimmed light and the cold contrast of grey stones) and some funky music, the ambience just triggered a satisfied mood in myself. Yeah, I know - for those of my readers who are not aware of the deliciousness of crispy ducks, this might look like the battle field of some war going on at half of the duck's body. But let me tell you: There's nothing better than eating this dish when you're craving for something typically Asian. Together with some dim sums and simple but amazingly tasting main dishes, this day was fulfilled with a little visit to Snog.

8over8

If you don't like Asian food, then you're definitely a sad person. Joking. Well.. half joking.
At least this is what I thought once again when I visited another favourite restaurant in London: The Eight Over Eight. Generally, the Ricker restaurants might be familiar with some as there are three other completely different styled ones across the city but the 8over8 in Chelsea just stays my favourite. I can still remember the first time I visited this place and I immediately felt welcome (and hungry). The warm atmosphere with the mixture of the typical Chelsea crowd and a delicious Pad Thai is just one of the things I absolutely crave for (nearly every day!!). My evergreenes are the Chilli Salt Squid and the Tuna Tartar as a starter, then the Pad Thai and either some beef or chilli chicken as a main - once you tried, you'll fall into total addiction.
I absolutely enjoyed this rather calm dinner with my friends a few weeks ago, therefore I chose something simple. My electric blue trousers haven't seen some outer world lately, so I thought about putting them on and combining them to a simple black blazer and top. As I'm always looking for some specific details, it was finally the right time to put on my python bracelet by Alexander McQueen. Matching perfectly to this, I additionally took my beloved skull-cross earrings by Bulter & Wilson. Such a good buy!

Sunny Portobello

Last Saturday was simply beautiful. The weather decided to be supersweet and so I was able to leave my beloved trench coat in my bag until the sun went down (and I remembered that we're still having February and not end of May).
Notting Hill is by far one of my favourite parts of London with the famous Portobello Market. Although it might be very very very touristic for those of us living here, I still love it.
There are no other words to add than to say that I was in the mood to put on some warmer, earthy tones and mix them up with a cool note. That's why my newly bought Zara bootees (which I also possess in black) had their first experience on London grounds. I don't know what happened to the tips of the boots (obivously darker than the rest) but as I rushed into several Zara shops, I had to discover that this was somehow done purposely. Because of the silvery studs, I chose to wear grey to my fluffy fur and the bootees. That's why I put on one of my (and Kate Moss' (adds total coolness)) favourite jeans and took out my bonnet, which my granny gave me as a present. I don't know why but I somehow have to laugh when I look at me with this on my head. I always wanted such an exemplar and now I remember myself of being one of the seven dwarfs. I love it with all my heart no matter how Bob-Marley-meets-Seven-Dwarf it maybe looks on me! ;)

New Year's Outfit 2011

After a long time I can tell that this new year's was simply amazing.
I guess it's the same with every party night - if you expect less, then you will be more surprised. I absolutely love New Year's Eve, so I pulled that black dress bought at Topshop months ago (I honestly forgot the "brand" of the dress but I will add it as soon as that ashtray is washed). Together with my skull earrings and the spike heels I built a little contrast. I wanted my nails to match the whole outfit, so I used one of OPI's sparkling silver polishes.
I hope everyone had a nice night and that you all don't suffer from a massive hangover as much as I still do.
