Thanks to fashionista.com I finally found out who that little girl in British Vogue's latest issue (and earlier in Vogue Paris) is. Thylane Lena-Rose Blondeau (which celebrity's child is this!?) is just 10 years old but I guess beside from her age and her height there are just a few things that remind me of a child. The look, the make up, the way she gets dressed - everything seems pretty much like she is supposed to act like a 25 years old supermodel in her best days.
Thylane is pretty. Period. But her parents seem to be something close to an insane state of mind. The more I think about those shots and the more I flip through those pictures, the more I get some serious mortifying feeling. A feeling that makes me vomit while thinking about how many pedophiles eventually will be the happiest people when looking at those images. Not that I'm that conservative to be shocked about each controversial photoshoot or anything else happening in fashion but when it comes to little 10 year olds posing and above all acting like they were 20 something (and all of this actually not happening at home but on in an official, popular magazine) I guess all of my liberalism comes to its borders. Surely, we girls remember those times when we snaffled mommy's lipstick and all of her other stuff and started a little make up massacre on one's own face. But being (involuntarily?!) put in scene and actually not expressing a child's nature is something different. Could someone please buy her some clothes that fit her and put her in something that looks a little more natural to her age?! Let her pose for an appropriate RL commercial. I wouldn't mind this.
Even if someone would claim that this girl loves posing in front of the camera in a golden bodycon dress with shoes three sizes too big while being surrounded by bunnies ( + other macabre settings), I personally see all of this as more inappropriate than funny. There's just a little hope left that Thylane's parents get back to reality and realise her daughter's actual age and possible interests.
"Quel maquillage à quel age"? I'd say as soon as you are able to hold a lipstick and work legally as a model.
"Comment se maquiller à 13 ans"? - I doubt that a 10 year old will be able to answer this. Gross.
I actually hate the person who came up with this idea. This is just ridiculous. Thinking of weird ways to get attention.

I read about this as well and honestly, this is sick. i can't really say much about this, it's too absurd to actually get into my head proberly. ugh
AntwortenLöschenthis girl is gorgeous. but these pictures are absurd.. it's like those toddler beauty pagent girls.. it's just freaky and makes me sick.
AntwortenLöschenI totally agree with you. But I have to admit that this little girl is absolutely GORGEOUS!
she's so cute! and we all did dress up in our mums clothes once :P

it's cut but i can just imagine pedophiles rejoicing over these photos.. and wanting more
AntwortenLöschenwow, she is gorgeous and at first I thought it's not that bad, but after some thought and looking at the rest of the pictures I changed my mind. I really do feel bad for this girl and her peers. I love fashion, but really this is a bit much. I can only imagine what younger girls feel pressured to do now a days to feel pretty....smh
AntwortenLöschenYou are just so right.!
AntwortenLöschenShe is gorgeous pretty. But at age 10 modeling these poses? No go.

AntwortenLöschenThere's been quite a buzz around this little girl lately. She's gorgeous, for sure. I don't really know what to think about it. I personally think that lots of little girls like her love dressing up and be treated like an adult (in some ways) but at the same time I realise it shouldn't necessarily be like this. These photos are strangely beautiful, but above all I think that at this moment we don't have to worry. I have to say though that it shouldn't go any further than this.
AntwortenLöschenLoveee! Sam

Absolutely agree! My little baby girl is only 6 weeks old and I am already scared about how life will treat her and all the dangers my little baby can face being a girl. Can not understand this girl's parents for making a putting their daughter on display to pervos!?! WTF???

I think these photos are tastefully done. Very haute couture and the girl is amazing at posing and having that supermodel feel. However, I'm also a little disturbed though. Does she really enjoy all these? Even if she does, shouldn't she have a more child-like childhood where girls are just girls and not trying to act like teenagers or 20-something?
AntwortenLöschenOh dudeeeeeeee isn't she too young for these mature styles and shots? I mean. I love the quality of the photos but....she needs to c-o-v-e-r u-p! Kids should b kids. You honestly are the BEST opinionative blogger I have read through, great article :) usually I don't bother reading everything but this time i did <3
